Activity Check
January 23, 2008
Once again, it is time for an activity check. Things are a little different this time around, however, so make sure to read through the thread carefully. The check will last two weeks and will end on Feb. 6th, so post to it now!

Site-Wide Event
Kaze and Damien have decided to join forces and host a party at Kaze's Kekaa Drive home. Sure, maybe it is a little late for a Christmas party, but that doesn't mean there still isn't a little holiday cheer left, right? The only problem is, their originally planned "small get together" has become something much bigger then that.

Tap on my window, knock on my door
« Thread Started on Oct 26, 2008, 3:13am »

The main street was full of busy shops and busy people. However, on the corner of it and a smaller emptier street was a bookstore, and connected to it on the side was a cafe, and this duo wasn't nearly as busy as the street around it. The atmosphere was warm and cozy, with scattered sofas and armchairs in both the cafe and the bookstore.

Inside, Pandy was working on stocking shelves. She was in the classics section, which was in the far side of the bookstore and right next to the cafe. There was no wall in between the bookstore and cafe, allowing her to talk with her friend, Claire the barista.

"Hey, isn't your shift over in like, fifteen minutes?" Claire asked. Pandy stopped stocking shelved for a moment to check her watch.
"Yeah, it is. Wow, that was quick." she turned to Claire. "Think you can make me my usual for when my shift is over?" she asked, eyes pleading.
"Sure." Claire said, rolling her eyes. "Caramel Latte, right?"
"Yup." Pandy gave a small smile. "Thanks much." she said, turning back to her box of books that needed to be restocked. And now, for Mark Twain. The "T" section. She picked up the box and moved one shelf to the right, without really paying attention to where she was going. If she wasn't careful, she'd bump into someone.

Always Look On The Bright Side Of Life

Brendan hadn't actually been to Napili Plaza before. He wasn't sure how he had avoided it, but he had done so up until now. Today the artist was in search of another form of art and to do that he had come to the plaza seeking a book shop. For the way in which the written word can be crafted was one of the things Brendan considered to be true art. He loved reading, the imagery, description, the characters and the plot. He found books mesmerizing, captivating even.

At the end of the plaza he found a cafe-bookstore combo, and entered it. Various armchairs and sofas were scattered around the place and the atmosphere was cozy, if a little too much. A few people were gathered around a few tables drinking coffee and reading some books which they had presumably purchased from the bookstore. Looking at the title's of the books, he recognized them from authors such as Steinbeck, Poe and Nemirovsky. Brendan himself was looking for Of Mice and Men by Steinbeck and after seeing somebody read it he felt assured that it would be there.

He began to browse the stacks of books, walking from section to section looking for Steinbeck. He found himself in the classics section and he begun to walk down it passing the letters for 'W', 'V' and 'U' until he collided with the girl stacking books. The box of books she had in her hands fell to ground, it's contents spilling of onto the floor causing a few of the covers of the paperbacks to bend. "I'm so sorry!" Brendan exclaimed as he bent down to start piling books back into the box, "are you alright?"

[[Rawr, computer ate my post >.< ]]

Pandy stepped sideways, and crashed into someone. She gasped and, surprised, dropped the box of books onto the floor. They tumbled out, some paperbacks getting bent and a few hardcovers bouncing off of the shelves and her shoes. She looked down, then up at the guy she bumped into. "I'm sorry..." she started, but she spoke at the same time as he did, so she let him finish speaking first.

"Yes, I'm alright." She said, kneeling down next to him. "I'm sorry, I really should have been looking where I was going." She started putting the books in the box with him. "Oh, uh, are you alright?" she asked. Just out of politeness and to avoid an awkward situation. She hated awkward situations. In fact, she could practically hear her friend Claire the barista, muffling her giggles behind the sleeve of her sweater.
